About

Vision:

As the last of the salty jus was wiped from the plate with the morsel of crusty bread left from the meal, the idea was born.  A way to share the meals we make and enjoy.  But, the plate that was before us was devoid of the excellent edibles we had eaten.  It was… Devastated.  The crumbs that just hinted at the meal that the two of us had shared was all that was left.  But that was enough.    A website, with a community of willing participants, novice and Master Chef, to see and share with us the fruits, and veggies, of the labour of the kitchen.  Articles and pictures to entice and enliven the palate.  Wares to help heighten the cooking experience, and t-shirts to tell the world how you like your food.
The Devastated Plate was created.

I see the Devastated Plate as a place to share how I look at food, the philosophy and practical nature of it. I always seem to take pictures after the food is partially eaten- I am a chef, not a documentarian.
